One More Week!

We thought that since it had been several weeks, we would post some pictures of Addalie. Not much has changed, we have just been busy packing and tying up loose ends here. Daniel passed one of his insurance tests today and has another one on Monday. He has been studying like crazy and was excited to get one behind him. I have finished work at the mission so now I can spend time packing and getting ready for the move.

We are excited to be moving out next week, but sad to leave friends and our home. We plan on leaving here on Wednesday and being in Round Rock on Friday so this will probably be our last update before the move, so these pictures will have to hold you off till then.

Addalie is smiling more and more everyday. She started doing this really cute chuckle and snort when she gets excited.

We think Addalie is going through a growth spurt because she has been eating more these days, as you can tell by the extra chins!

This is Daniel and Addalie on Father's Day. Addalie likes playing guitar with her daddy!

Daniel is going to have a hard time going back to work after being off work a week. He loves spending time with his girl.

Texas Bound

We are very excited to announce that we are moving back to Texas!  After a lot of praying over the last year God has started opening doors for us and creating a path for us to move closer to family!

We will be apart of a ministry called Apartment Life in Round Rock, Texas.  You can read about Apartment life here.  Basically we will be moving into an apartment complex and working with the management to build community with the residents and help the complex retain it's tenants.  It is a great way to build relationships and minister to the needs of those we meet and live with.  This past week we were confirmed as a CARES Team and were able to pick out our apartment.  Here is where we will be living.

Another answer to prayer is that Daniel was able to find a job quickly.  He will be working as a Farmers Insurance Agent and is in the process of being licensed.  The next few months will be very busy for him as he tries to get out and make contacts and build his client base.

We are also excited to be able to attend Hill Country Bible Church Round Rock, which is a church plant that was started almost 2 years ago.  My sister Jada and brother-in-law Nick, who serves on staff at the church, helped plant the church.  We are excited to be able to go to the same church as family and be apart of all the great things that are happening there.

Some things that we would love for you to be praying about:

  • Our house needs to sell.  We are trusting that God will provide a buyer in his timing and we are patiently waiting.
  • Our move home - We plan on leaving Hamilton July 1st and be in Round Rock by the 4th. Pray that Addalie does well on such a long trip!
  • The residents that we will be ministering to in the apartment complex.
We are looking forward to the chance to see many of you more often! We will keep you updated on everything!

Texas Trip

We just got back from a long trip to Texas. Though it seems like we were gone forever, it's never enough time to see everybody we want to see. We were constantly on the move, trying to visit everyone and actually get some good visiting time in. We had a great time though and can't wait to get back!

There are a lot of pictures on this post, but not even a fraction of what we took.
I should note that if you ever want to look at our pictures, just click on the link at the upper right corner of our blog that says "Come See Us."

Our first stop was in El Paso to see Gran-D, Pop, and Gam. It was fun to go back to Scotsdale Baptist to see old friends.

We had dinner with Mike and Paula Carnahan and their family. Addalie thought their granddaughter Maddie was pretty funny!

Maddy and Addy!

Next stop was Welch. We were fortunate enough to be close to Ryan and Suzanne in Earth so we spent a night with them. It was Addalie's first time to meet her cousin Bonnie!

We then returned to Welch so Addalie could meet the millions of family members that live around there!

Addalie getting some floor time after being in her car seat all day long.

Addalie just talking to Papa!

Nana knew how to make Addalie laugh!

Addalie and 4 of her great-grandparents. (Mama & Papa Brown and Meme & Grandad)

Addalie got to meet her 3rd cousin Cory. We could not get them interested in each other! Cory just wanted to sleep and Addalie seemed indifferent.

We stopped in Abilene on our way to Round Rock to see some friends and visit our old college campuses. We realized just how much we love and miss Abilene and the people there. We had an awesome time having dinner with old friends. Daniel and I agree that given the chance to go back, we would in a heartbeat.

Daniel getting to show Addalie around the Hardin-Simmons campus.

Our final stop was Round Rock where we visited my sister Jada and her family. Addalie hadn't met anybody except Jada and Emry, and it was a lot of fun watching the other kids with her.

Keirah loved holding Addalie.

Emry and Addalie took a bath together.  Emry seemed to enjoy it.....Addalie, not so much!

Aunt Jada with Addalie after her bath.

The girls hanging out outside on Jada's new swing.

One last picture before we got back on the plane back to Dayton.  We all had a great time visiting with family.  Addalie's first long distance trip was a success and she did so good with all the traveling.

Happy Mother's Day

Today was a day to remember. Daniel was sweet to make sure my first Mother's Day was special. We went to church, the he took me out to eat, and waited on me hand and foot for the rest of the day! I feel so blessed to be a mother. I am truly happier than I have ever been and cannot believe God has entrusted me with such a precious little girl. I know Addalie is all we ever talk about on the blog, but she is our world, and let's face it, she's all anybody else cares about as well. So here are a few pics of my first mother's day with my favorite little girl!

She is such a happy baby. I will never get over this smile!

She will smile like she did in the previous picture, then she gets really excited and opens her mouth wide. It's so cute! (Can you tell I'm smitten with my baby?)

Who could resist this sweet face?

So what's the deal with all these little baby outfits having huge hats? They could fit my head!

I haven't figured out how to rotate pictures yet and didn't really feel like going through the trouble tonight.

By the way, Addalie went for her two month appointment the other day. Well actually, she went for a stuffy nose and we went ahead and got her 2 month shots. That was plain torture for Addalie and me! Anyway, here are her stats:

Weight: 10 lbs, .25 oz
Length: 23 in
Head: 15 1/4 in

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mothers out there!

Last weekend we had more family come visit! Another wonderful thing about having Addalie come into this world is that those who never would have come all the way to Ohio otherwise have come! Bob (Daniel's dad) and Ryan (Daniel's brother) came up and we had a great time with them. Of course, Pop had to spoil Addalie! He took us to Babies R Us to buy Addalie a swing and some really cute clothes. She loves her swing and I love having something to keep my baby, who absolutely loves to be held, occupied!

Addalie enjoyed sitting with Uncle Ryan, even when he got chocolate all over her!

We took a trip to the US Airforce Museum in Dayton. It was really interesting to see all the old planes and learn more about the history of our country.

Addalie absolutely loves her bouncer. She loves looking at the animals above her!

That's all for now! Basically we have very little of interest to say these days, our lives just revolve around catching Addalie on camera!

Camera Phone Video

This isn't the best quality of video since it was done on a cell phone, but still pretty good.  Addalie is a pretty happy baby.  Fortunately this was taken right before she got her first shot since leaving the hospital.  She weighed in at 9 lbs 1 oz today.

John Piper

Sorry there are no pictures of Addalie. We came across these videos the other day and wanted to share them. We hope they encourage you as they did us.

As we raise Addalie, we pray that she will have this view of God and the world around her. It made us take a step back and realize again that as much as we love her, Addalie could never satisfy our hearts.
