Walking!!!

Addalie is finally walking! Something about being out here made her decide she was ready to take off! I had a hard time getting a video, but this one is pretty good.

Day 4 at the Brown House

We didn't do much today at Mom and Dad's. It was a busy weekend so we just wanted to take it easy and let the kids get good naps. So here are a few pics from our boring and laid back, yet fabulous day!

So here's the thing, I am clueless when it comes to blogger and too impatient to figure things out. I have trouble with captions so you will have to narrate these pictures yourself!

West Texas Trip

I'm here in Welch at my parents right now. Addalie and I flew down Friday to attend my cousin Ashton's wedding and we will be staying all week until my brother Landon graduates from high school. It's nice to spend some time here so that I get to see friends that I normally don't get to see, though we already miss Daniel and our home!

Addalie has been interesting so far on this trip. Spending lots of time with her cousins has brought on some side effects such as yelling all the time to be heard above the noise and in any room of the house, not wanting her own stuff but whatever somebody else has, etc. This will be good for her! She is also finally taking steps with confidence. She still won't just walk by herself, but she is getting close. I'll post a video of her later. Here are some pictures from the wedding and of my brother today at church.

Tia Leah!

Aunt Leah, or Tia Leah as she is called in our family, came to visit last night! She is moving here this summer (yay!) and came to look at apartments and stuff. We've had a great time and she has been a lifesaver watching Addalie while we go about all our CARES and church activities. And Addalie loves her! I'm so glad they will get to be around each other a lot in the future. I got on to Addalie today for tearing up one of her books and I took it away from her. She got really upset and started reaching for Leah when I tried to comfort her. That rarely happens so I guess she really loves her aunt!

Mischievous Girl

Here's our girl pulling everything off the book shelf, and giving me a big smile when I caught her! Every time she gets caught doing something wrong, she just smiles and says "hi!" It's hard not to smile.

Surprise Party!

We went to a surprise party for our youth minister, Jacob last night. We had a great time hanging out with friends and eating some fabulous grilled food. Addalie loved being outside and playing with her little friend Elijah, who is simply adorable!

Addalie hanging out with the birthday boy and Charis.

Addalie and Elijah decided to try to push the wheelbarrow around and do some yard work. They didn't get very far, even with the both of them trying! I did a terrible job taking pictures on my phone!

B-I-B-L-E!

This is Addalie saying "Bible!" They sang The B-I-B-L-E the other day in the church nursery and the workers said she got really into it. So we've been singing it with her a lot. She was sitting here clapping and acting like she was singing, then she puts her hands up and clearly shouts "Bible!" I'm so glad she enjoys music!

I have no picture today, but had I taken one, it would have been of Addalie and I reading "Goodnight Moon," "Farm Babies," or Veggie Tales "My Day." We only read about every moment Addalie is awake. At least that's how it seems. That girl would be perfectly content if she could just sit in my lap and be read to all day long! I do love that she loves to read, but I'm about to go crazy reading the same book 10 consecutive times! (not an exaggeration)

I have been trying to finish filling in Addalie's baby book and there is a section where you fill in unique things about your baby. I've been thinking alot about how blessed I am by Addalie in light of Mother's Day and what not, I just almost cry with joy everyday! Here are some things I've come up with about my sweet Addalie:

1. She is the friendliest child! She says hi to everyone she sees in the grocery store or as we are taking walks. She even waves to all the cars passing by!

2. She is obsessed with eyes. She is constantly poking me in the eye and saying "eyes!" She gets very excited about eyes. Can't hardly get her to acknowledge her nose though.

3. She can be so tired and so fussy that I think she is about to have a melt down, and all I have to do is get her around people and she comes to life. She is already such a social butterfly and seems to thrive on social situations.

4. She needs affirmation throughout the day. She plays pretty well by herself when I need her to, but throughout the day she comes to me just for a hug. She just needs to be held for a minute and then she's good to go! She loves giving hugs and kisses and does it with such excitement!

5. She is truly a girly girl in that she loves shoes! She is constantly getting into her shoes and bringing them to me to put on her. Today she brought me a different one for each foot and wore them around all day! She also loves headbands (adult ones), getting into my long necklaces, and playing with my makeup. What is this going to look like in the days ahead?

Those are just a few of the oh-so-adorable characteristics of our little girl. Can you tell she is my world? I mean, I really have nothing else to do but obsess over her and I'm really ok with that. I'm sure you all will get tired of it though!

Pool Party

I know it's been a while since I updated, but I just haven't been motivated. I'm feeling a little bit bored with life right now. Not that I'm dissatisfied at all, I just feel like I do the same stuff everyday. I guess that's what most people do with jobs and stuff, I don't know. Anyway, I love my life and family and everything, there just hasn't been a lot of interesting stuff going on. I guess that's better than some things!

We did make a short trip to Abilene this weekend for my sister-in-law Leah's graduation from Hardin Simmons. I miss college when I go back to that town. I miss all my college friends. If any of you are reading this, I love and miss you! It is always good to be around Daniel's family. It's so important for me that Addalie be close to her grandparents and great-grandparents. And I feel like she is really getting to the point that she knows them and is excited to be around them.

We of course went the whole weekend without taking a single picture though. We will get some from family and post them later. We had a cookout with our Real Life Group tonight at the pool which was super fun. The water was freezing though! Addalie wanted in the wh
ole time nevertheless. I got in with her and about froze, but she loved it! Look at her just kicking back and relaxing!

Bedtime Fun

Addalie is usually in her best mood right before bed. She was being silly and playing with her Daddy's hat. She put it on this way, then decided to help me with the dishes!

Favorite bedtime ritual: Drinking milk while listening to a story. I love watching these two spend time together!

Tragic

Somehow I broke my favorite pitcher today. It was in the sink needing to be washed and I accidently knocked a glass into the sink. I don't know how it did this much damage, but it did. And I was sad :(

On a happier note, here is a little video of Addalie we took yesterday. She just wanted to say hi to you!

Ketchup

Today was Addalie's first taste of ketchup, and she loved it! I think she just likes dipping stuff. We went on another picnic, this time with Daniel and we had Sonic fries. (I'm already getting her hooked on Sonic.) She had a hard time getting the ketchup in the mouth though!

Picnics and Swimming

I hate that I haven't been good about updating lately. I've been pretty good about taking pictures, just not posting them. We've had a pretty good weekend. We were supposed to have a brunch at Monterone, but it got cancelled, so instead Addalie and I went on a picnic! Daniel had to work, but he's going with us tomorrow. Addalie loved just being outside and watching the birds, trees, and other kids playing. I think this will be a regular activity for us this summer!
Today we went down to the pool to let Addalie play around a little. She didn't really get into swimming last summer because she was too young. She was so excited to be out there this year though!
